Ark's Transition & Housing Fundraiser
My name is Romy and I am hosting a fundraiser for Ark. Here is his story!
"I am 25 yr old trans man that has lived with my narcissistic parents (both are diagnosed) all of my life. My father once beat me so badly that I now have permanent eye damage to my left eye. All that because he came drunk into my room and I told him to leave. They are racist, sexist homophobes, so I never told them that I am bisexual and trans. I’ve tried to move out several times but they would always convince me to stay.
At the end of 2019, I saved a dog that was being neglected and abused. I was always shamed into doing or not doing things, and this was the first time I didn’t listen to them, but my heart. My dog Gary is my best friend and I would do anything for him. I have been saving money for my FTM surgery but Gary had some medical issues that had to be taken care of immediately and right now he is feeling much better. Unfortunately, I am one of the many that lost their job during the current pandemic. My parents decided that now is a good time for me to move out. I should have seen this coming, considering they once convinced me to not buy a car (I had saved up 2000€ to buy a car) but instead use my mother’s car. Later when the money was gone they took the car away from me and complained about why I don’t have my own car and was using my mothers. Even though they were the ones who told me I should use her car.
Right now me and Gary are staying at my friend's house and we thought of fundraising. I know this is very sad, but I am okay, I may be broke and homeless, but mentally I feel better than ever. And I am actually thinking of finding a job that I am actually passionate about. I would like to work in a non-profit animal welfare organization. Or anything else where we help the animals and the environment. So I am really excited about that idea. The funds will be used for necessities, but I am also raising funds to finally make the transition that I wanted for so long. I would like to get top surgery and facial masculinization surgery. Life is very beautiful and I’m excited about the future.
