Arjun's Run For Arthritis
At the age of 5, I was diagnosed with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA). I let my condition hold me back from competing in sports and games throughout elementary and high school. This condition takes a toll on you not only physically but also mentally. Until more recently, I had been quite reluctant to share with other people about my condition. But I am currently on a journey of personal growth to change my view of myself and this condition. For my UBC Pharmacy LEAP Project, I am creating a video to document my journey to running/walking a half marathon. In this video, I will provide information on juvenile arthritis as it isn't a prevalent condition. This project intends to create awareness about JIA and also show people who have JIA to not hold themselves back from what they want to achieve, whatever it may be. Another part of this project is to raise money for BC Children's Hospital because they cared for me greatly when I was a young child battling JIA
Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
