In Loving Memory of Briella Rae Matthews

On November 27th, our church family and our community experienced an unimaginable tragedy. Kyle and Melissa Matthews lost their precious four month old daughter, Briella Rae. No parent should ever have to walk through this kind of pain, and no words can ever fully capture the weight of their loss.

Many in Arizona City know Kyle Matthews, not just by name—but by heart.

Kyle is the kind of man who loves people hard, shows up without being asked, and gives without expecting anything in return.

He’s a landscaper by trade, but a servant by calling. Whether it’s helping a neighbor, supporting a family in need, or stepping in at church, Kyle is always there.

And right beside him is Melissa Matthews — a devoted mother, a steady presence, and truly the rock of their family.

She pours her whole heart into raising their children, supporting Kyle, and creating a home filled with love, faith, and stability. Melissa is the kind of mom who holds everything together even in the hardest seasons — and now she is carrying a weight no mother should ever have to bear.

Just recently, their family helped organize the Arizona City Cleanup, driving around and picking up trash for elderly residents and families who couldn’t do it themselves.

Serving others isn’t something the Matthews do sometimes — it’s who they are.

Now, we have a chance to serve them back.

Kyle and Melissa are walking through every parent’s worst nightmare. While trying to make sense of the unimaginable, they are also caring for their four other children, who are grieving the loss of their baby sister.
