Ariyah Rice's Recovery
Donation protected
I Deputy Yolanda Rice #1649 have worked as a Deputy Sheriff for 23 1/2 years at County Jail #2. I have two daughters named Gabriella who is 15 and Ariyah who is 18. For the majority of their lives, I have raised both of them on my own, as a single mother in Solano County. Ariyah was suppose to go to the Marines on 9/24/23, the day she got into a serious car accident. Ariyah was at John Muir ICU with serious and critical injuries for about 9 days, but now she is at Roseville Emergency Trauma Unit TNI because of insurance reasons, she got transferred. We now know that Ariyah had a brain hemorrhage, three fractured ribs, five fractures in her jaw area, one fractured cheek bone, two fractures in her spine, and one in her neck. She also had ten staples on her left side of her head along with a fractured left shoulder blade. She was on a breathing ventilator and feeding tube orally for about 9 days. She had a successful jaw surgery that required five metal plates in her jaw area and one metal plate in her left cheek bone. She now has a trachea through her neck and a feeding tube through her stomach to provide nutrition because she cannot eat nor drink since the accident. Ariyah has now had the trachea for about 9 days. Ariyah is still not strong enough to breath on her own, but is making slow progress and is now walking. Ariyah will have to go to a nursing rehabilitation skilled facility to get her up to par in about a week or two. She still has a trachea and a feeding tube through stomach because she has not passed a breathing test to breath on her own yet. Im hoping and praying in time she will pass the breathing test. I am grateful and thankful for all of your prayers, text messages, phone calls and for all of your loving support during this difficult time in my daughters and my life. The medical expenses are undetermined yet. Any donation of time and / or funding in Ariyah’s recovery would be greatly welcomed and appreciated.
