ARISE Academy and Mildred Osborne Charter School are transformational charter schools, located respectively in the 9th Ward of New Orleans and New Orleans East. On August 6, 2009 ARISE Academy opened its doors to more than 200 Prek-2 scholars. In its 3rd year, ARISE Academy was named a "Top Gains" school by the Louisiana Department of Education for its academic performance. In 2013, ARISE Academy was given a five-year extension on its charter for meeting and surpassing performance marks. Our network, ARISE Schools, also began in 2013, and Mildred Osborne Charter School opened its doors as our second elementarya nd middle school. Both schools have now grown to K-8, and this year our schools will graduate their first classes of high-school-bound 8th graders!
