ARION Goes to the Pan American Games

Hello everyone! We are members of the Advanced Rowing Initiative of the Northeast, or ARION for short. We are a group of elite rowers training in pursuit of a spot on the national team and, eventually, the Olympics!

Our team, ARION, has earned the opportunity to compete at the Pan American Games trials in Concepcion, Chile! Hannah, Kate, Veronica and I (Lauren), will be joined by our honorary ARION teammate Maddy Focht (Long Beach Rowing Club), Penn Athletic Club, Riverside Boat Club, and Craftsbury Rowing in representing Team USA.

The PanAm Games are contested every four years in the year preceding the Olympic Games, and we could not be more excited for the opportunity to represent the USA on this international stage. The first stage in this journey to qualify our boats is entirely self-funded and costs about $2,700 per athlete*. We at ARION have a goal to raise $10,000 to cover the majority of our trip expenses.
