My name is Oliver and I am a student at the University of Liverpool studying Mechanical Engineering MEng. I am also a Head of Sponsorship for the University of Liverpool's Velocipede Team. We are a group of 7 engineering masters students conducting our final year project to design, build, test, and race a 3-wheeled recumbent hand bike, with the ambition of breaking a land speed record.
Our bike, Arion 8, is looking to secure the World Human Powered Speed Challenge (WHPSC) record in Battle Mountain, Nevada, USA, in 2025 with our two riders, Karen Darke MBE and Ken Talbot.
Our previous achievements include in 2018, when the ARION 4 hand bike broke four world records, two for Karen and two for Ken. Karen raised the overall Women's arm-powered record to 46.56 mph, and Ken increased the Men's record to 51.58 mph. Then in 2019, the ARION 5 team added another World Record to the list by breaking the Women's World Record for a multi-track vehicle, with a speed of 56.42 mph.
Although confident that we will again break world records in 2025, it is not possible without the enormous help and support of our sponsors.
It is with this that we ask if there is any assistance or support that you could provide to become a sponsor for the project? At this current time, we are particularly looking for financial support to ensure that we are able to complete the build and get out to the competition in September 2025.
In sponsoring the project your company would have their logo placed on the bike, on all team merchandise, and tagged in all related social media posts, relative to our sponsorship levels.
If interested, more information, and our email, can be found at: https://www.ulvteam.com/
Thank you for your time and we will see you at Battle Mountain!
