Arie's Angels

Hello! If you are reading this, you know how special Arielle Morton is to so many people. She recently graduated with her Masters from George Mason University in 2022. In October 2022, she married the man she fell in love with 10 years ago. She and Matt currently reside with her parents, Jennie and Ferd, but had plans of building their dream home and starting a family.

Arie was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in June of 2022 and began treatments the following month. In January she celebrated turning 26 and receiving her Masters degree, as well as the fact that her scans were clear of cancer. Unfortunately, she started beginning to have pain in her face and jaw later that month. A month later, a full body scan showed that the cancer had now traveled to her brain. From there, doctors took her immediately for a brain biopsy and additional tests where it confirmed the brain tumor was cancerous. She began chemo treatments every other week until the end of May. In June of 2023, the scans indicated the chemotherapy treatments were no longer working. She then began radiation treatments. She finished radiation mid-July and the doctors wanted to let the radiation settle into her brain and wait two months to rescan her. Shortly after her last treatment, she began experiencing seizures, facial swelling, double vision, and other symptoms from the steriods and radiation. She was moved into ICU and put into a comatose state to eliminate the seizures. Upon trying to wean her off of the ventilators, she also developed an infection in the brain (HSV Encephalitis), as well as pneumonia while in the hospital. She is continuing to fight off the infection and pneumonia. While she is currently bed-ridden, her family is working on her cognitive and fine motor skills through the use of nonverbal feedback. After two weeks on the intubation tube, her doctors said that she cannot protect her airway due to her neurological state. They operated on August 3rd to give her a tracheotomy to allow for more comfort and for her lungs to begin to heal. Her scans are currently indicating that there are only residuals left of the tumor. She started to aquire fevers that have set her back in her progress. On a positive note, the fluid in her lungs is starting to drain with respiratory therapy and antibiotics. She is now able to breathe with less oxygen support. Due to the fevers, the doctors did another lumbar puncture to test for any other possible infections causing the fevers.

The money raised from this will go towards the medical bills, various therapies, house modifications, and rehab needed to help Arie fully recover. If you would prefer to donate directly to the family, please feel free to send money to an account set up for Arie.
