Ariel’s cancer story

Hello family and friends,

I was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma on June 11, 2021. Before finding out about my sickness Javier and I were also in the process of moving and getting our first apartment together. Shortly after receiving the news we had to move. Once we moved it was tough to get seen by an oncologist because I needed to wait for my medical insurance to transfer counties. On July 27th I noticed I had another mass on my jaw. The morning after I woke up in pain. My gums were swollen-blisters on my gums,tongue and lips. I thought it could have something to do with my wisdom teeth. I went to the dentist, but they wouldn’t help me because the radiation could be too harsh for my cancer. On Sunday July 30th I finally went to the ER because I couldn’t handle the pain anymore. I hadn’t eaten solid foods for the past 3 days. After another CT scan, they seen I grew another mass in my tonsils which is why my mouth was so infected. I have multiple masses in my chest and stomach area.  The hospital introduced me to Dr. Zhou (an oncologist) he heard about my story and offered to take me in because of how young and critical my condition was. Today’s is August 3rd, I’ve gotten a life port insert in my chest. I will be starting chemotherapy tomorrow. I wanted to make a go fund me because many have asked how to contribute. Funds will go towards my medical cost, medical supplies and general support for my little family. Javier recently started a new job and it’s been rough since I will not be able to work.
