Hi! I’m Ariel Zetina (she/her). I’m a deejay, writer, producer, administrator, facilitator, and transgender woman of color. You can look up all my work on my social media @arielzetina. Writing to you all because I am not sure how to move forward without help.
A lot of good things are happening in my life, notably a gender affirming surgery happening this month that my insurance is covering! However, I am in need of a lot of help right now due to some extremely unexpected circumstances on top of preparing for this surgery. Thankful that I have a couple jobs (I work at a voice studio now, and also facilitate gender workshops via Zoom) and some virtual gigs here and there, but it is basically enough just for me to pay my bills. Also thankful I was able to get a loan from my parents to cover one of my major expenses, but unfortunately it’s not enough to cover everything I need.
I’m asking for funds for the following:
Surgery Aftercare fund. While I am really glad my insurance covers this, I will need to cover a week of bills where I cannot work, and for an additional 4-6 weeks I will not be able to do streams on camera. Raising money for surgery expenses and food and transportation costs.
Moving fund. This is an absolutely lengthy story so I'll keep it short. For health reasons I had to unexpectedly move. I had to throw away most of my furniture and am basically starting over. I have a lot for free but I am trying to get my room into a place where it is a sanctuary to heal after surgery.
New computer fund. I am without a fully functioning computer right now and it will cost more than I paid for the computer to fix it. I tried to get on a payment plan for a new one but unfortunately because I changed my name legally I am not able to qualify. I desperately need a computer to do my day job, to write, and to make music.
