Hello, this is Joy & Ale and we are raising funds towards Aria's Fight with cancer
Our world has been turned upside down over the past three weeks. Our sweet Aria — full of love, energy, and turning 8 today (31st May) — has just been diagnosed with cancer.
It came as a total shock. During a routine check-up, the vet felt a mass on the upper wall of her rectum. What followed was a whirlwind of tests, scans, and difficult conversations. A CT scan confirmed the presence of a large intrapelvic mass.
Cell samples were taken twice, but frustratingly, no clear diagnosis could be made. To truly understand what we’re dealing with, they need to examine the architectural structure of the mass — something that can only be done through surgery.
We have a consultation with a surgeon soon to understand what the procedure would involve and to weigh the potential benefits against the risks. Emotionally, we’re struggling — trying to process this news while making the best decisions for Aria.
What we do know is that we want to give her every possible chance, while also being selfless and putting her quality of life first. It’s a heartbreaking balance to navigate, but her comfort and dignity are at the center of every choice we make.
Everyone who has ever met Aria can vouch for what a beautiful soul she is — gentle, joyful, and endlessly loving. She makes people feel calm and cared for just by being near. She’s not just a dog; she’s family, and the heart of our home.
One of the hardest parts is the financial strain. Even with some insurance coverage, the costs — both current and upcoming — are far beyond what we can handle on our own.
How You Can Help
We’re reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for support. If you're able to contribute, no matter how small, it would mean the world to us and help us focus on what matters most: giving Aria the care she needs and deserves.
We’re also setting up a small fundraiser by selling handmade items — more updates on that soon, once we can breathe again between consultations.
We’ll continue to share updates on Aria’s journey as we learn more and take the next steps. Whether you're donating, sharing, or simply sending good thoughts — thank you for being part of this with us. Your support means more than we can put into words.
If you’ve ever loved a dog, you’ll understand — Aria is not just our pet. She’s our heart. And today, on her 8th birthday, we’re holding onto hope for many more to come.
With love and gratitude,
Joy, Ale (& Leo)
