Arianna and Alvin’s Bone Marrow Transplant
This is Charles and Phiona Kabiswa from Uganda, the parents of Arianna 8-years and Alvin 5-years. We would like to post a little message and briefly explain our campaign behind Arianna and Alvin’s Bone Marrow Transplant. Both Arianna and Alvin were born with Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) which is a chronic blood disorder that causes severe pain, and can lead to stroke, organ failure, and other complications including death.
For many years Arianna and Alvin have battled this illness, suffered painful crises in the arms, legs, joints, back and chest. Both have had frequent blood transfusions, some of their body organs have suffered like the liver with fibrosis, the bladder and spleen. They have lost weight, and their concentration through being physically and mentally exhausted which has affected their schooling. It is always tough times for each of us where our only wish would be to fix every part of them whenever such pain starts. Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT) is the only established cure for the condition and we have no other option moving forward!
We were advised by our doctor to undergo BMT which is now scheduled for June 2019. As parents, we haven’t give up, we have managed to secure half of the cost. We are kindly asking for your help to raise the remaining funds which is approximately $52,000 USD in order to give Arianna and Alvin an opportunity to live a normal life. We are all in despair for this situation considering we only have a short period to raise such a big amount, but we believe that God is bigger than sickle cell, and that everything is possible through Him. So, we are hoping and believing for the impossible.
We would be so grateful for anything you can do to help financially, sharing this page and praying for us. All donations will be put into the bank account of Arianna and Alvin.
