We have been blessed with our beautiful son. It has not been an easy road. Ari was born with a cleft lip and palate.
He has completed his first surgery to reconstruct his lip, the surgery went phenomenally, but the recovery was much harder. As a working mom, and sole income provider I was forced to go back to work one week after his procedure. It took Ari a solid two months to start putting on any kind of weight, which is terrifying for a new mom. This time must be different.
I am blessed to have a job that includes family leave. As reassuring as it is to know that I will have a job to go back to; the down side is that it is an unpaid time away. One that I cannot afford to take. I must choose between the recovery of my child and a paycheck.
I am asking for any help that can be given to keep the household bills in check. Every child deserves to have their mother with them during their recovery.
