Aria Turner's Fundraiser

Aria Turner was recently diagnosed with a malignant non-germinomatous germ cell tumor (NGGCT). This news has left Aria's friends and family completely shocked;just a few months ago Aria was a happy kindergarten student participating in karate and cheer. After the new year, Aria got a flu that left her very weak and sleepy. After she recovered, she continued to exhibit symptoms of extreme tirednessthat indicated something far more serious than a flu was going on.She would sleep 12-14 hours at night and then would often fall asleep at school. Her appetite also starting decreasing and she started losing weight.By mid-March, she was complaining of frequent headaches and eye pain. This escalated to the point that she would cry multiple times a day that her head hurt. After appointments and tests, Aria was seen by a neurologist who ordered an MRI. It was during this "routine" MRI that they found a large mass in her brain. She was immediately sent to Children's Hospital in St. Paul to have a drain put in to relieve the spinal fluid that had built up in her brain. After being initially diagnosed with a craniopharyngioma (benign brain tumor), her labs revealed that she had all the markers for a NGGCT. This malignant tumor diagnoses is devastating for her family and will require a complete change to the life they once thought as "normal." She is currently still in the hospital and about to begin the first of six rounds of extremely aggressive chemotherapy, which will be followed by six weeks of radiation.


Aria wants nothing more than to come home healthy and whole and be able to play with her friends again. Every donation given is absolutely appreciated and will be used to help alleviate the costs of her medical care and to help supplement their family income while Jessica (the main breadwinner for the family) takes time off work to completely support Aria and focus on her care.
