Aria and Rylee’s Parents

Hi everybody! Our boss at our job recently had two twin baby girls. The twins were born extremely prematurely and have needed a little bit of extra attention in the NICU for the past few months. Throughout this journey, our boss has still managed to not let his home life affect his work life. He always shows up for his employees and at times goes above and beyond for us. So to thank him and show him our appreciation for him, we would like to help make their situation a little less stressful so that they can focus more on just spending time with their baby girls! Thank you to everyone in advance for helping us out and more importantly for helping our boss and his family out! ❤️ This is their story:
Hello. Thank you for taking the time to read my kids and wife’s journey through the seemingly impossible. On January 26, 2023, My wife and I welcomed Aria and Rylee into our lives, or as I like to call them, AJ and Ryq (Pronounced Rick – I was hoping for boys and decided to give them boy nicknames). Leading up to this, my wife went into preterm labor at 25 weeks gestational with a placental abruption. Aria’s placenta detached from the uterus and all 3 had to be rushed into emergency c-section. Aria was born at 1lb 12oz – 12 inches long and Rylee was born at 1 lb 8 oz and 10 inches long. Both girls were rushed into NICU immediately after delivery and placed on vents. The day after delivery, Aria was rushed to Riley children’s hospital with a level 4 brain bleed on the left side of her brain and Rylee was kept at Community Hospital North. We made the trip back and forth for 9 weeks while they closely monitored Aria at Riley’s Childrens Hospital and Rylee and Community North. They were able to eventually transfer Rylee to Riley’s as well, but on May 13th, Aria was transferred to Lutherans Childrens Hospital in Chicago, IL for an eye surgery due to retinal detachment. The surgery was a success, and she was transferred back on May 30th. Due to the nature of Aria’s brain bleed, there is the potential that she could develop cerebral palsy later in life and both AJ and Ryq both suffer from chronic lung disease from being on vents for the first 3 months of life. Riley is working with both girls on weaning breathing support, and they are currently on high flow nasal cannula because they need the positive pressure of the cannula to help their breathing. They have come a long way so far and at the time of typing this up they are 5 months old to the day, but they have a long road ahead still and will likely be in NICU for a few more months. There is a possibility that my wife would have to quit her job and stay home with the 2 full time if they were to come home on breathing support, so any help that would allow us to get ahead and medical bills paid down beforehand would be very appreciated and we both would be able to enjoy them being home and out of a NICU setting, finally. Throughout the entirety of this going on in our lives, we both have had to get back into the workforce to make sure we are able to travel the 2 hour round trip daily to visit them at Riley and we are dependent on both incomes for our daily lives and bills. We are fortunate enough to have an amazing support system that helps us whenever and however they can and greatly appreciate all help that anyone is able to provide. Thank you again for reading the story of AJ and Ryq and their overcoming the impossible odds stacked against them, and the 2 parents that are incredibly grateful to have strong fighters to root for. ——————
