Help Aria (and Lach!) battle RSV

As most of you know, Aria has been battling Asthma almost her whole life. In and out of hospitals for the common cold, recurrent pneumonia, etc.
She’s avoided hospitalization for years, due to the changes Covid brought about with things like Zoom for meetings, and more precautions on cleaning and going out.

But after years of her avoiding the hospital, we finally met the virus RSV.
Her and Lachlan both woke up December 29th with severe symptoms.
Both have asthma. As most of you know, Lachlan was also diagnosed at 4 with Asthma/ Reactive Airways and hospitalized at 4 years old in December 2023.
Both have had to be taken to the Emergency room, back to back on January 2nd.
First Aria, then Lachlan.
Lachlan is home and being monitored hourly. He’s doing well so far.
Then Aria had to be taken in again when her pulse ox dipped to the 80s and she woke up confused and disoriented at 2 in the morning on January 3rd. She was immediately admitted.
She’s been in the hospital ever since, with me staying with her in the hospital, and Alex staying home to closely monitor Lachlan. Unfortunately, this cuts back on how much Alex can work, as having a babysitter while I’m with Aria in hospital and RSV being as serious as it is limits how much hands on help we get with Lachlan.
My mom helps as much as she can.

Aria was diagnosed with RSV, Pneumonia, and bronchitis after only having symptoms for about 5 days.
She is currently in critical PICU status.
She is on a continuous high amount of Albuterol but this puts her heart under stress. She’s now having PVCs, and abnormal heart rhythms.
Cardiology is now getting involved.
With the asthma, the RSV, the Pneumonia, the bronchitis, she’s at a sort of plateau in healing, with a very, very slow uptrend in her lungs.
She has crackling, the bottom part of her lungs are diminished with very little airflow, but she has no airflow the day she was admitted. So that’s better, just slow!
It teeters back and forth but she’s in good spirits, not in pain, talking well. Not struggling for breath. Just very bored and a bit anxious and wanting to go home! We will be here I’m sure for a few more days.

We will keep you all updated and thank everyone for any help they can give and any encouragement!
