At just 2 years old, Ari was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a rare genetic disorder that causes progressive muscle weakness and degeneration. Since his diagnosis, our family has worked hard to turn something heartbreaking into something hopeful — raising nearly $50,000 for Muscular Dystrophy Canada to support research, advocacy, and other families facing this journey.
As DMD progresses, the financial reality of day-to-day care continues to grow. We are now asking for support to help cover Ari’s out-of-pocket medical expenses and future needs. This includes the cost of essential steroid medications that are not covered by our benefits, frequent travel to the children’s hospital in Calgary for specialist appointments, and medical equipment that helps support Ari’s mobility, comfort, and independence.
We have also started a dedicated savings account for Ari to help prepare for the future medical expenses that come with living with DMD.
Every donation, share, and message of support means more to our family than we can put into words. Thank you for helping us give Ari the best quality of life possible while continuing to fight alongside him every step of the way.
