Ari Kohn Memorial Fund
Donation protected
Also known as Patron Saint of Ex-Cons, Ari Kohn founded the Post Prison Education Program (PPEP) in 2005 with the goal of offering hope to the formerly incarcerated as they returned to open society by creating opportunities, guidance and providing access to higher education. He passionately continued his role of Founder and Director of the program until his passing. He believed deeply in the power of education. Outspoken, often irreverent, about his views, he fought for what he believed to be rights of those he cared so deeply about.
Ari Kohn, man of boundless optimistic vision, lost his fight after an unwinnable 8-month battle with brain cancer. He passed away June 23rd in his home in Seattle. He was buried at Abby View Cemetary at a Jewish ceremony on June 27th.
We will be holding a larger celebration of life to honor Ari and remember all of his amazing accomplishments and contributions to the world on July 9th, at The University of Washington. I am hoping to raise funds to help cover the costs for Ari's memorial, including burial costs and a celebration of life gathering.
