Ari and Dre need our help

Dre and Ari have always shown up for their community, friends, strangers, and every event they can make it to. They've donated money, time, art, and space at each opportunity. This is our chance to reciprocate.

 

Sometime mid-May Sandor (Dre and Ari's Dad) was hospitalized after being found in his apartment 3 days following a fall that he could not get back up from. During that time, he didn't eat or drink and the hospital was keeping him only on the basis of severe dehydration. While he was sounding loopy/confused over the phone, they attributed that to his age alone and ignored his claims of severe back pain. After a few days, they released him to a rehab facility where he woke up the next morning, vomiting. He inhaled some into his lungs, went septic and was then admitted back to the ICU. The Doctors gave him a low chance of survival and miraculously pulled through. However, he will need to home health care services and rehab.

 

Sandor was working to pay for his living and medical expenses until the fall. He will be relocating to San Diego to be with his daughter Hannah. Ari and Dre will also eventually relocate to San Diego.

 

How much money they've spent thus far:

$2,500- Lawyer

$5,323- Multiple round trips to Boston
$6,500- Accessibility needs
$480- Hospital parking + gas

 

How much will be needed

$12390-$295/day for a minimum of 6 weeks it could be as much as $17,000

$4000- Private Nurse to fly w/Sandor. Uhaul and gas from Boston to San Diego. Uhaul and gas from Denver to San Diego

$800- Hotel stay for Dre while they assist their dad back into his apartment (it's tiny)

$300 a day- Caregiver once he's in California.
