My dad Jon has been diagnosed with MND. Over the last 4 years our family and friends have watched helplessly as my dad lost the use of both of his arms and now both of his legs. Dad being a strong willed and determined individual is fighting daily to overcome these challenges.
The most effective rehab for my dad involes the use of a pool in which he is still able to move his limbs without weight bearing. For this to take place we need to purchase a portable hoist to get him in and out of the pool.
Having a portable hoist would also allow dad more comfort and allowance on day trips and when visiting friends and family.
To help dad keep fighting I am trying to raise $4000 to cover the cost of a portable hoist and equipment to assist dad with his breathing.
To show my commitment to this cause I am going to run 100kms in the next 30 days.
