It's clear that the story of Argo has touched so many of us. Although few of us knew him or had the joy of meeting him in person somehow we were all touched by his journey as shared through the eyes, experiences and many FaceBook posts of John, his loving friend and caretaker.
As much as we all grieve for Argo it is clear from all the loving comments on the FaceBook post started by John that we all grieve equally for what he is going through.
There is no explanation for Argo’s fate or why John or any other person who dedicates so much of their personal time and resources to the cause of animal wellbeing has to ever be put in a position of self doubt about the goodness they do every day.
There is something we can all do for Argo and John. Let’s memorialize Argo by donating to the rescues that do so much good in the area, in hopes that our small contribution will make the difference in many other animals’ futures. And let’s show John that he is not alone in the passion he has for doing good for animals. Let’s try to make something positive out of this horrible story.
I am starting this funding campaign to try and raise $1800 to go to three rescues that are near and dear to John's heart - Last Hope Animal Rescue (Wantagh, NY), Forgotten Friends of Long Island (Levittown, NY), and Golden Paw Society (Huntington, NY). The leadership and volunteers at each organization have been incredibly supportive of John and Argo's cause during this devastating time. Funds will be split between the three rescues.
