Hello everyone,

My name is Reem.

I have been a refugee in France for five years now. I am launching this campaign to save my family in Gaza. My father, mother, and sister now live in a small tent in Khan Younis, by the sea.

My father, who is 58, suffers from cancer, and the first chemotherapy dose is not available in Gaza. He needs to travel abroad for treatment. My mother suffers from allergies, and her health has severely deteriorated due to these conditions. They are facing extreme difficulty in obtaining her medication. My sister, Iman, 22, finished her studies in English and Translation, but because of this war, her dreams are not only harder to achieve, her life is also in danger.

The situation in Gaza is terrifying.

There is no food, they live in makeshift tents on the sand, the living conditions are poor and unsanitary, there is gunfire, bombings and danger, their lives are threatened daily, but the difficult part for us is when we transfer money to help them, more than half is taken by agents.

I have two other siblings in other countries, and we have been trying to sustain our family by ourselves for the last two years - since the 7th of October 2023. We have emptied our banks, years of hard work, savings and dreams all gone, but that’s fine if we can save our family. Nothing matters more.

It has left us with this, as our last resort. We have no choice but to ask for help.

My family might be strangers to you, but if you know what it’s like to love someone, and watch them suffer in helplessness and desperation, it’s the same for me. It is a suffering I hope you will never have to experience.

I hope to evacuate my family and save their lives. My parents are elderly and my sister is young. I truly hope that perhaps in a collective effort, we can save them.
