My name is Michelle one of the representative of VESO (Venezolanos en Sydney Oficial).
Many of us are far from home with parents, grandparents, siblings, and friends caught in the middle of this. Being on the other side of the world while the people we love wait for news of someone missing is its own kind of helplessness. So we’re doing the one thing we can from here. We’re coming together to send help.
On the night of June 24, two powerful earthquakes struck northern Venezuela less than a minute apart, magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5.
Buildings collapsed across La Guaira and Caracas, hospitals overflowed, and entire neighbourhoods were left in rubble.
La Guaira suffered the worst damage and has been declared a disaster zone. As crews keep searching through what’s left of homes and apartment blocks, more than 235 people have been confirmed dead and over 4,300 injured, and those numbers are still
Every dollar raised goes directly toward families affected by the earthquake, coordinated through trusted members of our community on the ground in Venezuela. Funds will cover what people need right now: food, clean water, medicine, temporary shelter, and basic supplies for those who’ve lost their homes. We’re committed to handling every contribution with full transparency and getting it where it’s needed most, reaching as many families as we can.
No contribution is too small. Whether you give, share this page, or simply hold our community in your thoughts, you’re helping us bring something back to people who’ve lost almost everything.
Gracias, from the bottom of our hearts.
