Hi! As most of you know, my name is Arelle Maiman. I am currently a junior at St. Norbert College studying English with minors in French and Women and Gender Studies.

This summer, I am planning to spend a month in Paris working on an independent study. I will be part of a 3-week program auditing a Poetry Workshop at the American University of Paris!

I have studied French since I was 11 years old and have dreamed of going to Paris for as long as I can remember. More recently, it's been on my mind since I've reached a place in my language study where the next logical step would be immersion. Additionally, I started writing poetry in high school to help manage my depression, and it truly has shaped so much of my life. To study poetry in Paris truly would be a dream come true.

I currently work two jobs and have a paid internship on top of being a full-time student. It is a lot, and while I know I could raise enough money on my own, I am applying for research grants and looking for any friends and family who could spare even a few dollars to help alleviate some financial stress!

Every donation would mean so much to help me reach my goal and achieve a lifelong dream that I can't even believe could be coming true in just six months' time.

My goal is to raise $500, which would cover my hostel stay for the entire month and would help me reach my overall goal of $6000 for the entire trip!

With all that being said, I know that, for many people, donating is not something that would be doable for them, and I completely understand that. If you could simply help share my story, that would mean so much!
