My name is Jen Ketola, a friend of the Arellano-Lopez family.

On August 23rd 2022 Marisol was in an auto accident that involved two other automobiles on US highway 301 and the late afternoon leaving her daughter Natalia’s grandmother's. Marisol’s kids; Karla, Roberto, and Natalia, were involved and were all injured.

Unfortunately, the person at fault has only basic auto coverage - that is being split between a few other parties that were involved. This will leave very little to pay for the family hospitalization bills, ongoing medical care, physical therapy, and any future care associated with their injuries.

The Arellano- Lopez family is well known amongst our Dade City community so I'm hoping that we can come together and help the family. This family has done so much for their community and friends, it's time pay if forward.

Due to their automobile being totaled on August 23, 2022 the family has struggled to make it to their medical appointments, school, activities, and even work. This has been a huge loss for them.

The family has attempted to resume life as normal, but it has been almost impossible. Marisol has been unable to walk around normally, care for her family, work at Anytime Fitness Gym, work her cleaning jobs, or even care for herself. She’s called me almost daily in emotional and physical distress. She has shared with me that she can’t bare to see her children bruised, and emotionally struggling to be in a car again.

We all know how hard Marisol and Gerardo have worked – multiple jobs: auto detailing, cleaning houses, and working as a Manager for Anytime Fitness in Dade City. They do all this so that they can support the families’ basic needs, and beyond. This is a family that has lived pay-check to pay-check. They know the definition of being poor. It may not always appear that way, as Marisol has big expectations of her children, and self, along with big dreams. I’ve known Marisol for over 15 years, and this lady has always worked tirelessly for her kids. In today’s economy, the living pay-check to pay-check no longer applies to the definition of “making it” or “surviving”.

On September 19, 2022 bad news came to the family again, as Marisol had to undergo an emergency appendectomy. The family will struggle to pay this debt as well, and their struggle is even heavier.

I'm asking that if you can spare a dollar or just share this story - that together as family, friends, and a community, we will be able to do some good for the Arellano- Lopez family. Your donation will be applied towards any outstanding medical bills, and continued medical services. Also provide financial relief so that they can afford to buy groceries, pay rent, pay utilities, and continue the same care for their children.
