My name is Abdelrahim, from Gaza. I am the father of a 4-year-old boy, Areen. Our lives have been shattered by the ongoing war. Everything that once gave us stability—our home, income, and sense of normal life—has been taken from us. We are left without a safe place to live and without any stable source of income, living day by day with the sole focus of keeping our child alive and protected.

In Gaza, my son is growing up in conditions that have erased the meaning of childhood itself. His life has been reduced to continuous survival—defined by displacement, fear, uncertainty, deprivation, and exhaustion—with no stability, no improvement, and no separation between days, only an ongoing struggle to meet the most basic human needs no child should ever be forced to endure.

My son Areen is too young to understand why his world has changed so violently; he only feels what is missing. And I, as his father, stand helpless in front of his most basic needs.
