Arctic Court 360: An Ice Mirage in the Desert

Imagine a massive cube of "ice" rising out of the desert — glowing, shifting, alive with light. By day, it shimmers like a frozen mirage. By night, it becomes something else entirely: a beacon of color and motion, with silhouettes of people moving inside its glowing walls, as if the desert itself had trapped a piece of the Arctic within crystal.

This is Arctic Court 360 — a large-scale immersive art installation, and we need your help to build it.

What is Arctic Court 360?

Arctic Court 360 is a monumental structure — approximately 20 ft x 20 ft x 10 ft — built from an aluminum alloy frame and clad in translucent, rippled acrylic panels designed to mimic the look of ice. Individual wall segments are lit from within by programmable, sound-activated LEDs, so the entire structure breathes, pulses, and reacts — a living surface of light glimpsed through "ice."

From the outside, Arctic Court 360 is a mystery and an invitation: a glowing, half-transparent monolith that makes passersby wonder what's happening inside. At night, as people move within, their silhouettes become visible through the walls — creating the eerie, beautiful illusion of figures suspended in ice.

What happens inside?

Step through the entrance and the desert disappears.

The floor and ceiling are finished in mirror-polished stainless steel, dissolving the boundaries of the room by reflecting visitors and artwork back on themselves, again and again, into infinity.

Video projectors surround you with a full 360-degree world: Arctic Court — a frozen realm of crystalline forests, sharp, frigid air, and characters costumed in ice- and snow-inspired artistic clothing. The edges of the projected world blur into the mirrored surfaces until you can no longer tell where the room ends and the image begins. You're not watching the Arctic Court. You're standing inside it.

Visitors don't just observe the art — they complete it. Every person who enters becomes part of the installation, visible to others outside as a shifting shadow inside the "ice," and surrounded, once inside, by an infinite reflected world of their own making.
