In April Simon and I are traveling to the Arctic to do a 5 day, 100km unaided walk across the Arctic Circle. As well as battling the freezing conditions we will have to walk in snow shoes with all the food, equipment and clothes we need for our expedition being carried on our back.

We are taking on such a huge challenge to raise as much money as we possibly can for Velindre Cancer Centre.

Velindre Cancer Centre has a place very close to our hearts, many of our friends and family have received life saving treatment there and my mother will be here to cheer us on because of their amazing expertise.

As too many of us will be aware Cancer will unfortunately affect 1 in 2 of us and it’s because of places like this people have the best possible chance, extending their lives and often living to tell a tale of survival.

Velindre Cancer Centre offers traditional treatments for all forms of cancer as well as being at the forefront of new technologies and cutting edge treatments. They take part in continuous research to improve treatments and help offer the best possible fight against cancer.

Velindre Cancer Centre is the main location for cancer treatment locally but is also a hub which attracts doctors from all all over the world and is pivotal in developing the next generation of oncologists nation wide, so whether you know Simon and I personally or not, or live near or far, us and Velindre and anyone who is currently or who may one day face their biggest challenge will be extremely grateful for any donation you make.
