Hi, my name is Lucy and I’m raising funds to help bring our little boy Archy home after a devastating accident.
Archy is our fluffy Bichon Frise x Toy Poodle and has been part of our family for 3.5 years. He’s usually a happy, healthy little pup who loves long walks, playing with his dog friends and being close to the people he loves. Life with Archy is normally full of cuddles, far too much jumping up and wagging tails. This week has been unimaginably painful.
On Wednesday afternoon, Archy escaped our yard while we weren’t home. At some point that evening, he was hit by a car and left alone, injured and frightened. We don’t know how long he was there before a kind stranger stopped, helped him, and went out of their way to find us. If it weren’t for them, we may never have known what happened… or if he would have survived at all.
The injuries were serious. He suffered:
• two fractures to his right femur
• a fracture to his left pelvis
• a fracture to his left fibula
On Thursday, Archy underwent emergency surgery to give him the best possible chance at healing. As of Friday, he is still in hospital, being closely monitored by the vet team as he begins the long process of recovery. The vets are hopeful of a full recovery, but it will take time and patience.
This has been really hard. Watching our playful, happy puppy in pain and still unable to come home yet, has been heartbreaking beyond words.
As a single mum, this has been especially overwhelming, emotionally and financially, and I’m doing my best to hold everything together for me and the kids, while making sure Archy gets the care he needs.
The support from our friends and family has been incredible and has meant more to us than we can express. When a friend suggested setting up a GoFundMe to help ease the financial burden, I thought it was a beautiful idea and have been deeply grateful for every message, share and show of support already.
We are raising funds to help cover Archy’s emergency surgery, hospitalisation, medication and rehabilitation, so we can support him through recovery and bring him back to the life he loves.
Any support you are able to give whether through a donation or by sharing truly means the world to us. Every little bit helps and every act of kindness brings Archy closer to home.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for caring about our little fluff ball and helping us give him the chance to heal and live a long and happy life.
With love and gratitude,
Lucy, Audrey, Connor, Chito and Archy
