Archived - independent television series

Hi, my name is Erik Lopez, I’m a screenwriter and director from Santa Ana, California. At age 16, I had a clear goal of pursuing a career in the entertainment industry. At age 20, I honed in on screenwriting; more specifically, writing for television. At age 22, I graduated college and immediately got to work on my first independent television series, ARCHIVED.

Go into detail about the film, include a Logline to start it off.
Archived is a dramedy that is set in a 2025 Los Angeles-like city. The story revolves around 3 friends, Nacho, Feliciano, and Gordo. The trio must pawn a vintage leather jacket in order to pay for their rent. However, they quickly discover their journey is filled with various roadblocks such as; a drug dealer, a snobby suburban kid, a two-faced friend, guns, betrayals, and a section of a California freeway. However, despite everything going against them, they stop at nothing to acquire the jacket.

What inspired you to write this?
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been a sucker for any form of storytelling. Whether it was something I read, watched, or heard from someone else, the art of storytelling always captivates me. I’m also a sucker for stories that leave me resonating with the writer’s message. Whether it’s painting a new look on the world or providing life advice, I strive to tell stories that deeply resonate with audiences. Archived is my attempt at creating a story like this.

Why did you write this?
On several occasions, I’ve always felt insecure about the money in my bank account. Until I realized, it’s not that deep. In any argument, I would always be more aggressive than the other person. Until I realized, again, it’s not that deep. Whenever I catch myself in a bad mood and take out that anger on those around me, I stop and realize that it’s not that deep. Archive is my interpretation of the phrase “It’s not that deep” and how these four words act as my mantra to my everyday life.

Who is the intended audience?
Those who struggle with money. Those who struggle with controlling their anger. However, truthfully speaking, I’m writing this to get my name out there. As I desire for my name to be associated with TV writing, Archived is my attempt at tying my name to television.

What complications or struggles do you foresee with the project?
An obvious complication is accumulating money for Archived. The funds garnered from here goes right back to the project. Whether it’s to acquire gear or to secure locations, every penny is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time and consideration to supporting the on-going emergence of indie TV. Your contribution makes it possible to tell stories that resonant with audiences.
