Archie, the little parvo puppy needs ER care
Donation protected
Meet Archie, our sweet little parvo pup. So Archie was brought to our attention a few days ago when a vet tech called us about an owner that had brought her puppy in who had been sick for a few days. Turned out, this sweet baby had Parvo. The owner, after learning of his diagnosis, was looking to take the dog to the county, which sadly would’ve resulted in euthanasia. We offered to take this medical case on if the owner surrendered the pup to our rescue. Unfortunately, she declined. The owner left the vet, knowing that sadly, without any medical intervention, Parvo would be fatal. The next day the woman returned, and the pup had deteriorated even further. She, thankfully, decided to surrender sweet Archie and given that this tiny baby had declined, he now needed 24 hour emergency care. We took Archie to VEG (Veterinary Emergency Group) in aventura, where he immediately started treatment. If Archie has any chance at beating this, he will need to remain at VEG for at least a few days. I am very optimistic given that Archie has remained, for the most part, stable and with swift medical intervention, he has not deteriorated any further. As of 10:00 pm
tonight, he even gave a tail wag and stood up. We’re giving Archie everything he needs to fight and he is proving he’s willing to fight as well. Archie is a very sweet little terrier mix, he’s only thirteen weeks old. We would Love nothing more than for Archie to leave the hospital, happy and healthy and ready to tackle the world! Sadly since this pup didn’t get the intervention he needed at the start, emergency hospitalization was required, which can be quite expensive. In the rescue world, every dollar goes a long way, especially in Archie’s case. Thank you again for your donations and thank you to VEG for taking on our little rescue case.
