Hello, my name is Deonte Cottingham, and I’m the eldest of 9 children—7 biological and 2 step-brothers. I’m reaching out on behalf of our family to ask for your help during one of the most difficult times in our lives.
Our father, Archie Davis, recently passed away unexpectedly. He didn’t have life insurance, and we’re now trying to figure out how to bring him home to Racine, Wisconsin, and hold a memorial service in his honor.
Right now, he is in Duluth, Minnesota, and the cost of transporting him back to Racine, along with gathering our family to properly say goodbye, is more than we can carry on our own. It’s important to us that his 9 children, 12 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren have the opportunity to come together, celebrate his life, and find peace in the process.
While our relationship with our dad wasn’t always perfect, he was still our father, and his passing still hurts. This is about honoring the life he lived, healing as a family, and sending him off with love and dignity.
We’re asking for support to help cover:
The cremation of his body
Costs related to his memorial service
Travel and accommodations for family members to come together
If you’re able to give, please know that any amount helps and means more than words can express. If you can’t donate, sharing this with your network is just as powerful.
Thank you for helping us bring Archie Davis home.
