Living Sober Whitefish is a sober living house in Whitefish, Montana, on acres of wooded, mountainous property at the base of Whitefish Mountain Ski Resort. Living Sober Whitefish is dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for those on the path to recovery. Will Gwin, who helped start Living Sober Whitefish with his friend Michael Curran, is raising funds to build an archery range at the house in memory of George Whitner, a dear friend who recently passed away. George and Will first met in the 7th grade, becoming close friends and eventually roommates in their college days. George spent a season as a backcountry hunting guide in Montana and Colorado years ago, and his lifelong passion for the outdoors and hunting was a defining part of who he was. He found deep meaning in nature, and his love for the wilderness inspired those around him.

This project aims to honor George’s memory by creating a space where residents can connect with nature, learn a new skill, and find moments of calm, focus, and passion. The funds raised will go directly toward purchasing bows, 3D archery targets, building supplies for a small barn to safely store all the equipment, and clearing enough property to have a safe and effective archery range. By supporting this initiative, you’ll help provide a meaningful activity for the residents and keep George’s spirit alive in a way that reflects his love for the outdoors.
