After months of preparation and anticipation my niece Bryce entered the hospital on December 09, 2020 to give birth to her first son, Archer Sams. When Bryce and Cody got the news that they were going to be parents they felt so many emotions but none more than an overwhelming sense of joy. Being a new parent is never easy, especially when you are young and just getting your feet under you but Bryce and Cody were determined to be the best parents they possibly could be. They were ecstatic at the opportunity to raise a child and they immediately started preparing to be parents. There is no doubt that these two were going to make amazing parents and that Archer would be raised in a home full of love and support.
Due to Covid restrictions family was not allowed in the hospital so Bryce and Cody were alone to deal with more than thirty hours of labor. Finally, after more than a day of labor Bryce gave birth to Archer the morning of December 10. Immediately, however, the doctors knew something was wrong and they began working to stabilize him. Unfortunately though, it was too late and Archer did not make it past the hour.
As one would expect this has devastated the family and put a dark cloud over the holiday season, which it will likely do for years to come. No parent ever wants to have to bury their child and as a parent myself I cannot even begin to imagine the pain that Bryce and Cody are feeling. The doctors assured Bryce that there was nothing she could have done different but I know it is killing her inside and that her and Cody will both need to spend a healthy amount of time addressing their feelings with a professional.
While Bryce and Cody do have a wonderful support system to help them get through this there are certainly going to be costs associated, and that is not something that they should need to worry about right now. So, this fundraiser is to raise money to pay for any costs associated to memorial services as well as counseling for both Bryce and Cody. The strength of these two young adults is amazing but the loss of a child at birth is undoubtedly one of the most difficult experiences that anyone could ever deal with so they need the love and support of many. If you are reading this please find it in your heart to give whatever you can and help these two amazing people so that they can properly grieve the loss of their child and have the opportunity to address their emotions in a healthy way without having the added stress of financial burdens.
All donations received will go directly to Bryce and Cody.
