Archer Fellowship Program in Washington D.C.
Donation protected
Several months ago, I announced that I would be in Washington D.C. living my dream of doing more work with education policy at the federal level. It's a big deal for me, and I continue to count down until I begin to do this work for ALL students and ALL families. I aspire to improve the quality of education in our underprivileged schools while also changing the face of bilingual programs in K-12 education. Someday, I hope to serve Texas on the State Board of Education to ensure education policies that benefit our growing and diverse communities.
As an Archer Fellow , I will be interning full-time in Washington D.C. while receiving graduate course credit for my PhD. UT Austin and the Archer Center of the UT System has been extremely supportive, providing me with professional guidance and funding for a significant portion the program. Though this is a great opportunity for graduate students, members of each Archer cohort are responsible for obtaining the remaining funds for their Archer experience.
Since it happens to be the case that my birthday is quickly approaching on May 5th (Cinco de Mayo), I ask for one thing: Financial Support as I prepare for my transition to D.C. Whether you believe in the work I have done the past several years in education OR know me and love me as a person OR simply want to give me a kind birthday gift as I take the next steps, your support is greatly welcome.
