As many of you may know or may not know, Arcelia Patron was diagnosed with Stage 4 Renal Cancer on 12/5/2024.
Before she got sick and was diagnosed, she was always very happy, outgoing, and funny. She was never seen sad and was always positive. She loved to play cards and go play bingo with friends. Arcelia had a very fun and productive life, always worrying about her kids, helping others, and leaving herself for last.
A little story about her:
Arcelia was born and raised in Escuinapa, Sinaloa in 1955. In 1978, at the age of 23, she came to the United States to have a better life and future. When she arrived to the US, she lived in Oakland, CA, where she met Jesse (Jesus Castañeda) got married and had 3 children (Jessica Manuela Castañeda, Jesus Manuel Castañeda & Victoria Castañeda. In 1992, she separated from her spouse and moved to San Jose, CA, where she then became a single mother and needed to start working to provide for her children. Arcelia started off by making and selling tamales out of her home to make ends meet, always trying to find more ways to support her children. Shortly after, she got offered an opportunity to start working with troubled youth within the community. Arcelia loved helping others and was offered to start running a variety of different City Council campaigns. She was also running rallies for immigration, labor, and pay increases for fast food restaurants. She also held the community neighborhood clean up as well as she had her own Domestic Violence Women Group. Arcelia is known to be a fighter and wanted to make sure she thrived and never gave up. She has been recognized with numerous awards for her hard work, dedication and ambition.
In 2014, she lost her eldest daughter to Colon Cancer.
As of today, 02/12/2025, Arcelia has been fighting the battle with cancer . Doctors have let us know she only has a short period of time left and we need to prepare. Her sickness has hit us as a big surprise and has been costly. We aren't prepared for a large funeral expense. Antes de enfermarse y ser diagnosticada, siempre fue muy feliz, extrovertida y divertida. Nunca se estaba triste y siempre fue positiva. Le encantaba jugar a las cartas e ir a jugar al bingo con amigos y amigas. Arcelia tuvo una vida muy divertida y productiva, siempre preocupándose por sus hijos, ayudando a los demás y dejándose para ella al final.
Una corta historia de ella:
Arcelia nació y creció en Escuinapa, Sinaloa en 1955. En 1978, a la edad de 23 años, vino a los Estados Unidos para tener una vida y un futuro mejor. Cuando llegó a Estados Unidos vivió en Oakland, CA, donde conoció a Jesse (Jesús Castañeda), se casó y tuvo 3 hijos (Jessica Manuela Castañeda, Jesús Manuel Castañeda y Victoria Castañeda. En 1992, se separó de su cónyuge y se mudó a San José, California, donde luego se convirtió en madre soltera y necesitaba empezar a trabajar para mantener a sus hijos. Arcelia comenzó haciendo y vendiendo tamales en su casa para poder sacar a sus hijos adelante pero siempre estaba buscando mas maneras para sobre vivir. Poco después, le ofrecieron la oportunidad de empezar a trabajar con jóvenes con problemas dentro de la comunidad. A Arcelia le encantaba ayudar a los demás y le ofrecieron comenzar a ejecutar una variedad de campañas diferentes en el Ayuntamiento. También organizaba manifestaciones a favor de la inmigración, el trabajo y los aumentos salariales para los restaurantes de comida rápida. También llevó a cabo la limpieza del vecindario comunitario y tenía su propio Grupo de Mujeres contra la Violencia Doméstica. Se sabe que Arcelia es una luchadora y quería asegurarse de prosperar y nunca darse por vencida. Ha sido reconocida con numerosos premios por su arduo trabajo, dedicación y ambición.
En 2014, perdió a su hija mayor a causa del cáncer de colon.
El dia de hoy, 02/12/2025, Arcelia ha estado librando la batalla contra el cáncer. Los médicos nos han informado que solo le queda un corto período de tiempo y que debemos prepararnos. Su enfermedad nos ha sorprendido mucho y nos ha costado bastante y honestamente no estabamos preparados para un gran gasto funerario. Se acepta cualquier cantidad de donación y apreciamos a cada uno de ustedes desde el fondo de nuestro corazón.
