Monty Lewis' directorial debut BFA thesis animatic short film will explore the internal and external doubt and invalidation many trans people fight to overcome through the lens of a stranger fighting for acceptance and exoneration in a liminal Western world.

From the Director: Current politics have created a climate in which not everyone will accept who I am as a trans person. Coming to terms with this has been difficult, and I'm sure many have experienced the same. I'm creating this film for that reason, so that anyone who has struggled with their identity and the expectations of others may find some solace in knowing they are not alone, and that it is okay to not be accepted by everyone. The true purpose of this film is to show that the people who do accept you and love you for who you are are the ones that matter more than anything, and through them we receive the strength we need to keep going.
