If we can get 3,000 people to donate then we can bring this arcade lounge to Worthington's community.
When I was 10 years old in Worthington, MN there was an arcade. I had birthday parties there, it was down from the movie theater in the mall. The arcade, the movie theater, the mall... none of those exist now. My childhood friends and me all have kids now and they don't have a local arcade to make memories in. I want to change that.
The Arcade Lounge...
The doors will open with 9 arcade 1up machines that are free to play, no quarters needed.
2 lounge areas with a variety of party games to choose from.
And a game couch area with a Nintendo Switch console, 4 controllers, and 5-6 games:
2 wall booth areas that can seat 4 people.
There will be a projector playing films and tv shows that are appropriate for all ages.
Food and Beverage Permitted...
Everyone will be permitted to bring their lunch in, whether you are by yourself or with a group of friends looking for a place to eat your pizza, or enjoy your coffee.
We plan to upgrade the machines in the near future and bring in new 2020 arcade machines introduced at last year's E3 convention like "Enter the Gundeon: House of the Gundead"
The business hours will be 10 AM to 2 AM so everyone can find time to come in. Minnesota west students waiting for class to start, lunch hour with co-workers, neighborhood kids getting together after school, high school students meeting up after clubs get out, and even parents getting together with friends for the evening.
All donations will go to the start up costs:
Location/rent, equipment, licenses. Just to name a few in short.
But all donations will go directly to bringing this idea to life. A creative, colorful and fun environment that's welcoming and safe for the community for everyone to make memories in their local arcade lounge.
