Hello, my name is Robert. Typically, I’m the one seeking to help others, so this has been a little difficult for me, to say the least. I work full-time for the phone company, installations, and repairs. In the winter of ‘22, I sustained a back injury. Until December of last year, I thought it just wasn’t getting better, until I ended up in the hospital for 8 days and found out my pain was actually due to a severe infection caused by other medical issues. I spent 8 days in the hospital and have had several procedures since then and have another one scheduled for mid-July.

I missed so much work in the past 2-3 years I’ve had to take out personal loans to stay afloat. My medical bills since January have totaled $9,400 and I’ve had to spend about $2,000 more on medical supplies. My next procedure is expected to finish off my max out-of-pocket, at $4,600. I have used all of my available full-pay disability for the year; the 6 weeks I have to take off in July for my next procedure will be half pay. I already cashed out my 401K and have run out of viable options. The only option left is to ask for help and hope some of the love I’ve put out in the world will come back my way.
