Araya Billiard

Hey everyone, I am Rachel Parker. I am raising funds to help my friend and co-worker with medical bills as she has recently found out that she has cancer.

 

Araya (aka A.B.) is originally from Thailand. A.B. met her husband, Joel BIlliard, in Thailand and they have been married for 16 years. Araya and Joel have two young boys: Mukisa (12 yo) and Kaiser (10 yo). A.B. graduated from nursing school in 1989 as a Registered Nurse in Thailand but started working in the U.S. in 2013. A.B. loves people and has a very giving and caring heart. She has worked in many different nursing areas, including the ER, a surgery center, Med/Surg, and now long-term care. A.B. cares for each resident/patient as if they were her own family member.

 

Araya is a hard worker and is very dedicated to her job. After recovering from COVID, she started having trouble with a cough that wouldn't resolve. It was initially thought to be related to her blood pressure medication and then Post-COVID syndrome. When she came to my office one day, we listened to her lung sounds, and something didn't sound right. She had a chest X-Ray, and it was discovered that she had a nodule on her lung. A biopsy was completed and confirmed the dreaded C word that no one wants to hear...Cancer. A PET scan was completed and found that the cancer was in more than just her lungs; it had already made its way into her thoracic and lumbar spine and hip.

 

A.B. continues to work even with all of the doctor's appointments because the "doctor still has to be paid." As A.B. continues to work, she has noticed vision changes over the last month. Gradual changes, but quick changes. Her vision has gotten so blurry that she cannot read. An MRI was completed, and the cancer is also in several lobes of her brain, two of which are in the occipital lobe that controls her eyes.

 

Throughout this process, A.B. continues to demonstrate strength and courage, but she cannot do it on her own. We ask that you give from your heart to help her with medical bills and help relieve a little extra stress off her shoulders. If you aren't able to give, then please add her and her family to your prayer list. There is so much power in prayer, and God is the ultimate healer and miracle worker.
