A wonderful father and friend needs our help:
Bill was experiencing pain in his side almost a year ago to date. He went through rigorous tests for weeks and the doctors gave him a clean bill of health. The pain would come and go throughout the year so it was something that he learned to live with. The week of October 19th, the pain again became too much to bare and Bill made the responsible decision to go back to the doctor. During this appointment, his life was absolutely turned upside down.
He initially had a CAT-scan and the doctor right then knew something was wrong. He was informed that he had colon cancer and was scheduled for an immediate colonoscopy and the removal of 12” of his colon. During the colonoscopy, the doctors discovered what they feared and the mass was not in the colon, but in his lymph nodes. The goal was that surgery would rid Bill of all cancer, but has now turned into daily Chemo treatments with the hopes it will slowly kill all the cancer in Bill’s body. After the first week of Chemo, Bill was given the blowing news that his cancer was in Stage 4 and the battle was going to be more complicated then they first thought.
The next couple of months are going to be tough for Bill. He has to balance his daily Chemo treatments with the one thing that means the world to him, his 7-year-old daughter Chloe. Bill is a single parent and absolutely dedicates his life to Chloe. Anyone that has met Bill knows what an exceptional dad he is and every waking moment of his life is giving this sweet young lady the best life possible.
Chloe has grown up to be such an amazing young lady and I hope that you have it in your heart to ensure that Bill can continue to give his daughter everything she deserves. Bill has taken a 6-month leave of absence from work without short/long term disability, his medical bills are going to continue to mount, and during this battle with cancer, his biggest concern is giving Chloe the Christmas that she deserves.
One thing we all know; Bill will beat this not only for himself, but also for Chloe who brings him all the joy in the world. Please keep Bill in your prayers during this fight and from the bottom of our heart, we all thank you for the support.
