Back Brace

I left the doctor today in disbelief and not knowing what to do. I have scoliosis, which I knew. I didn't know how bad it had gotten and how much worse it would get. My curve is 45 degrees. They said that I have an extreme curve and that it is twisting, which means it will start affecting my breathing. Please see the left

lung on the X-ray below. You will be able to see how it is beginning to affect my lungs. The brace is $5700. The doctor visits, once a month for a year, to do PT and get home exercises would be $2060.($7760 total)

I am a single mom, putting myself through grad school. I will get my degree next spring with a master's in social science. I am an advocate working with the underprivileged in the court system to help them navigate all the documents needed for their cases.

I have an 8-year-old son. Who I adore and would die for. Everything I do, I do it for him. I want to be there for him emotionally, mentally, and physically throughout his life, and I won't be able to be, at least on the physical level, if I am not able to get the brace.
