We are raising funds for Aquila, a CSULB Senior Capstone Film that explores the emotional and psychological aftermath of a college student’s abortion.
This film delves into the inner world of Aquila Viera, a smart, ambitious young college student who undergoes a medical abortion and must navigate the emotional toll of her decision while hiding it from her religious family. As the effects of the abortion intensify, Aquila is forced to confront her identity, her guilt, and her need for support in a world that offers her silence. Aquila is a deeply resonant story for many, one that sheds light on the often unspoken realities surrounding reproductive healthcare, mental health, and the weight of societal and familial expectations. Our goal is to foster empathy and break the silence around these experiences, creating space for dialogue, healing, and understanding. This project is driven by a team of student filmmakers committed to authentic, socially relevant storytelling. Your support will help us cover production costs such as equipment, locations, art direction, and post-production ensuring that Aquila is made with the care and quality this story deserves. By contributing to this campaign, you’re not just helping us make a film, you're helping amplify voices that are too often left unheard. Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
