On Monday, April 1, the world lost a bright shining light. Aquiel Pettiway's beautiful smile and energy lit up every room she entered. Her unmatched spirit of joy and her kind heart touched the lives of everyone around her. Aquie proudly served her country in the Army Reserves. She would have anyone's back and was always there for the people she loved. Aquiel was a beloved daughter, granddaughter, niece, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, and our hearts will never be the same. She's with her brother Ricky now, who we lost in 2016.

Aquiel died in a car accident in Tampa and we are collecting funds for the funeral expenses and to help bring her home to Worcester, Massachusetts. Any amount would be so greatly appreciated. Update: We want to thank everyone who has donated so far - your overwhelming generosity is a testament to just how much Aquie was loved. Services will be held on Monday, April 15 at the Mercadante Funeral Home on 370 Plantation Street in Worcester. Calling hours will be from 9:00-11:30am and the service will be from 11:30-12:30, followed by interment at the Hope Cemetery at 119 Webster Street in Worcester.
