Please help Danny who lost his dog in an attack

Aqua was given to our friend, Danny, in early 2022 as a gift from his family in Mexico to help him in his transition from college to the “real world.” She was there for a lot of big moments and meant the world to him which may make the next part difficult to read.

About 2 weeks ago, Aqua was on a walk that led to a tragedy. Out of nowhere, a loose Pitbull from a neighboring yard ran out and attacked a 6-pound Aqua completely unprovoked. The owner reported that they had the dog outside without a leash and stepped inside to go to the bathroom, leaving their Pitbull unsupervised. That moment led to the attack which left Aqua with horrific abdominal injuries and a puncture to her Gallbladder duct that went unnoticed at first. She was rushed to the vet where they were able to stabilize her enough, but the veterinarians were skeptical and worried about her recovery. She was able to return home in the meantime, but soon she began to turn yellow, and upon returning to the vet, Danny, the owner, was informed that she had developed jaundice and that her options weren’t great and would be expensive. Danny fought for Aqua and went through with surgery but that unfortunately wasn’t enough. He was left with no other option but to make the extremely heartbreaking and difficult decision to end Aqua's suffering, as even if she had survived her future looked grim. While Danny received verbal communication from the owners that they would pay the bill for Aqua at first and admittance of fault, upon seeing the amount owed, they immediately rescinded their offer and cut communication. Danny spoke with multiple lawyers, but his legal options were slim. The owners of the Pitbull have no homeowners insurance to file a claim against, and again, are refusing to help pay the $10,000+ bill for Aqua's surgeries due to their own neglect.

Danny is suffering the loss of his best friend, who was barely a year and a half old due to no fault of his own, and he is stuck with the bill after the owners refused to help in any way.
