Help Rebuild Westmoreland After Hurricane Melissa

My name is Mr. Alexander, and outside of the U.S., Negril has become my second home.

I started this campaign because this is my community, and I’ve seen firsthand the heartbreak and destruction caused by Hurricane Melissa.

Seeing so many families lose their homes has been truly devastating

When the storm tore through Jamaica, Westmoreland was particularly hard hit. Roofs were blown away, homes destroyed, and families left standing in the rain with nowhere to go. Entire communities — from Negril to Sav-la-Mar, Little London, and nearby districts — are struggling to recover.

Many hardworking families have lost their homes, roofs, and belongings overnight. Some are sheltering with neighbors, while others are staying in partially damaged houses, praying each night for safety and the strength to rebuild.

I’ve personally opened my doors to help a few families and neighbors find temporary shelter during the storm - 9 people to be exact, but the needs are far greater than what one person can carry alone.

How the Funds Will Be Used:

Every dollar raised will go directly toward helping families in need, starting right here in Westmoreland:

️ Roof and Home Repairs: Buying zinc sheets, nails, plywood, tarpaulins, and cement to rebuild roofs and secure damaged homes.

Emergency Supplies: Providing groceries, clean drinking water, and basic necessities to displaced families.

️ Temporary Shelter: Assisting with renting safe spaces or providing materials for makeshift shelters, especially for the elderly and families with small children.

Community Rebuilding: Supporting local volunteers and tradesmen who are helping repair homes and restore essential community spaces.

This isn’t just about rebuilding homes, it’s about restoring hope. The people of Westmoreland are strong, humble, and giving. They’ve always looked out for each other, and now, they need us to look out for them.
