Three weeks ago on a Monday night, my dad David suffered a hemorrhagic stroke. My mom found him on the floor next to their bed, unable to move or feel the right side of his body. He was airlifted to Washington Regional in Fayetteville, where he spent several days in the intensive care unit before stabilizing.
After leaving the hospital, David was transferred to in-patient Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital, where he has been working incredibly hard every day to regain strength and mobility on his right side. His positive attitude and determination to recover have been incredibly inspiring to everyone around him. Even during the toughest therapy sessions, he manages to keep his sense of humor and has all the therapists laughing and smiling.
Soon, he will be discharged to continue recovery through out-patient therapy. While this is an exciting step forward, there are still many challenges ahead. The transition home will require ongoing therapy, frequent travel to medical appointments, and home modifications to make the space more accessible and safe for him.
We are raising funds to help cover these out-of-pocket medical and rehabilitation costs, travel expenses, and home updates to support his continued recovery.
If you are able to give, any amount helps ease the financial burden and allows my parents to focus on what matters most - David’s healing and progress. Our family is deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and encouragement we have already received from so many.
Thank you for supporting my dad on his road to recovery.
