Atlas' TPLO surgery
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Nesha and Atlas is my 7yo border collie. Sadly, he needs a TPLO surgery on his CCL (equivalent to our ACL). His surgery is an estimated $7000-$7500 procedure. This doesn't include the $800+ in bills spent so far or any of his post-operation rehab/recovery.
Atlas has been with me through thick and thin. Our journey started in 2016 while I was solo travelling Australia at age 19. At the time (and time and time since then), this pooch has got me through some difficult times. It may sound far-fetched, but I owe my health and well being to my four-legged friend.
Atlas lives an extremely active lifestyle and unfortunately, surgery is the only option to heal his knee. He’s currently 3 legged - barely weight baring at all on his injured leg. There’s nothing more I want than to get him back to running, hiking and playing in the fields chasing the birds and butterflies. He still has half his life ahead of him and he must get this done as soon as possible to reduce the risk of arthritis and other complications.
This surgery has been booked for weeks and since then I have been very hesitant to start this campaign due to ego. I’ve struggled to ask for help in the shadow of the independent person I am, however, I’ve come to terms that taking on this unexpected expense alone is going to send me under without some help. So now here I am asking for whatever help people can offer.
August 30th he has a consult with the surgeon in Vancouver at Canada West where he will be admitted for his surgery the following day. September 1st I will pick him up in the afternoon and the lengthy journey to recovery will start.
If you are not able to contribute financially, sharing the link to his campaign on your social media or with friends and family is a major help. Thanks so much for being here and listening to our story. Much love!!
