Hi, I’m Freya, a Filipina transgender woman and a drag artist based in Saskatoon.

My transition journey began when I was 16, and I’ve been on hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for over a decade. The dream of a medical transition has always been with me, but financial barriers kept it out of reach. HRT has been life-changing, helping my body align with my female identity. Yet there are times when missing hormones for weeks or even months while I wait on medications sourced from the Philippines, brings back body dysmorphia and fear. I’ve been on the waitlist for HRT here in Saskatoon for about a year, and that wait is a struggle I face.

With this crowdfunding, I’m seeking support to pursue the dream that’s felt tucked away for so long, to advance my transition and bring my true self into fuller view.
