Hi,
I'm Kathryn and myself alongside, my husband Kevin, Katie's Parents and Vickie and Colin Charlie's Parents have set this page up to raise funds to help with costs for Kate, Charlie whilst they are back and forth to UCLH in London to keep a check on progress for their unborn baby Teddy, after a routine 20 week scan found issues and they were sent to UCLH the next day. The funds raised would then to help with costs to stay near the hospital, as Kate will have to C-Section in London, she will have to stay in for a few days and Charlie would have to travel up daily, they have said baby could be in NICU for weeks if not months, Kate won't be able to travel long durations after having a C-Section, for quite a few weeks, so we are going to raise money for them to stay up in London near to the hospital, obviously as parents we will do what we can personally, however we will need to do some fundraising to help with this.
If we raise more than is needed the excess money will be donated to The Fetal Medicine Unit to help with their research into restricted growth and placental issues.
It's been a long, stressful, emotional month, We are up and down to UCLH weekly for growth scans Teddy was 216g at the 1st visit at 20.3 weeks and today he was 345g at our 5th visit at 24.3 weeks gestation, they are fairly certain there is a problem with Kate placenta and the pressure within it that can potentially effect the babies blood flow, they need to get Teddy to 500g and hopefully more before this happens. He is below the lowest centile. He also was scanned by a fetal Cardiologist who see that he has one side of his heart smaller than the other and a possible contortion in the aorta arteries, which they can operate on at birth IF Teddy is a good weight. We are going week by week, sending positive and healing energy out there for Kate and Teddy, today is the first day that there has been a big change in the pressure of the placenta, so we need to hope and pray that it holds out for as long as it takes to get Teddy to this viable size of 500g. Kate is also high risk for pre-eclampsia.
This has been extremely stressful for them both, especially as Kate can't work as much and Charlie as they both have to attend the hospital weekly.
Thank you to all of you for the support you have given and continue to give x it's means alot x
